Frank proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Following his military service, he attended and graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by the Texas Department of Transportation for 33 years, retiring as the Director of Technology Architecture, Design, and Implementation.
Frank was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Blanco; a second degree black belt in the American Society of Karate; a Life Member of Texas Exes; and a board member of the Texas State Employees Golf Association. Frank's passions were his faith, family, golf, reading, fishing, hunting, and traveling. Frank was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christine Bushong of Round Rock; daughters, Michelle Bushong-Steinmetz and husband Bron of Gilbert, Arizona; and Sara Austin and husband Cliff of Leander; grandchildren, Travis Austin, Riley Steinmetz, and Roman Steinmetz; sister, Blanche Cowan and husband Prentice of San Antonio; brother, Stanley Bushong and wife Bobbie of Sinton; Sister Patricia Pulliam and husband Bill of North Carolina; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Moore and wife Carolyn of Blanco and Dennis Moore and wife Kelly of Blanco; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his mother, Leona P. Bushong, and father, James R. Bushong; and his mother-in-law, Martha Moore Bates, and father-in-law, Maurice W. Moore.
The family will receive friends with funeral services at Beck Funeral Home, 1700 Whitestone Boulevard, Cedar Park, Texas. Graveside services will be at the Blanco Cemetery, Blanco, Texas.
