Warren D. Franklin, 81, of Spencer, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at The Waters in Martinsville. He was born in Owen County on April 9, 1933 to Jason Franklin and Eva May Franklin Shook. Warren served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was selfemployed and later worked for Davis Cameras in Indianapolis repairing cameras. After retiring from his Indianapolis job, he worked at Spencer Walmart in the sporting goods department for 17 years. Mr. Franklin was a member of the Spencer Baptist Church and a former member of the Spencer Lions Club of which he was a past-president. He enjoyed hunting and playing Euchre.

Mr. Franklin is survived by nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann (Akins) Franklin in 2009; son, Randy W. Franklin in 2013; four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home with Dr. Shannon Benham officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery with military graveside services being conducted by the Spencer VFW and American Legion. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday.
