Mrs Chris. J. Fergusson, South-dean, Rotchell Road, Dumfries, has received official intimation that her son, Captain John Fergusson, K.O.S.B., was wounded in action while serving in Western Europe, on 16th February, and died on 18th February.
Captain Fergusson, who was 23 years of age, was educated at Dumfries Academy and Dollar Academy, and afterwards proceeded to Glasgow University, where he was studying to take the M.A. degree, preparatory to entering the legal profession, in which his father, the late Mr David Fergusson, B.L., was a well-known practitioner.
On the recent visit of our representative to the Western Front he had the pleasure of meeting Captain Fergusson and spoke highly of his personal and soldierly qualities.
