Alexander Irvine Lewis Downs, Son of Philip Kenneth and Cecile Wilhelmina Downs, of Bondi, New South Wales, Australia. Alexander was served with the RAAF in WWII and lost his life when his plane, Wellington DV867 26 Operational Training Uni, crashed near Stramproy Holland. The aircraft was shot down by night fighter pilot Oberfeldwebel Fritz Schellwat of the 5./NJG 1, who was flying a Bf 110 F-4 from St Trond (Sint-Truiden) airfield in Belgium.
