He attended school in Otley and Pella. On March 8, 1950, Jerry was united in marriage with Mary Ann Samson. To this union, two children were born: Marvin Gene and Jeanne Eileen. Jerry was a semi-driver. After retiring from driving semi, he drove for Midwest Sanitation until 2003.
Jerry was a member of Third Reformed Church in Pella. Jerry was also belonged to Highway Ministries of Grand Rapids , Michigan, a ministry for semi-drivers. This past year, Jerry and Mary Ann furnished and delivered 1000 New Testaments to surrounding truck stops. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann, his two children, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis Bokhoven, his brother, Leroy Veenendaal, his brother-in-law, Arthur (Kathryn) Samson, and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Marinus and Sarah Veenendaal, his sister-in-law, Patty Veenendaal, and his brother-in-law, Arthur Bokhoven.
Jerry was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends, who will forever cherish their memories of him.
