Rodney C. Ward, 87, of Ashville, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Pickaway Manor, Circleville. Born December 31, 1920, in Pickaway County, to Lawrence and Dora Alice Spayth Ward. Served in the US Army, WWII, as an MP. Graduate of Walnut High School, Class of 1941. Retired from Scioto Coca Cola Bottling, Circleville and was a life long farmer. He married his wife of 60 years, K. Vonalee Martin on June 14, 1947. Preceded in death by parents, son Robert (Bob) Ward, brothers Russell, Stanley, Cecil, Gerald, Howard, Ralph, Lawrence, and one infant, sisters Dorothy Taes, Doretta Hope, Mildred Younkin, Helen, Lillie, Kathleen, Irene Ward. Survived by wife, K. Vonalee Ward; daughter, Becky (Steve) Gregory; grandson, Wayne Gregory all of Ashville; several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call Saturday, March 22nd, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the OLIVER-CHEEK FUNERAL HOME, Ashville. Service Monday, March 24th at 10:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Pastor Martin Frances and Rev. Ervin Kirk officiating. Burial at Hitler Ludwig Cemetery.
