Greg was born in Des Moines on June 5, 1965 to Marv and Barb Berry. He passed away due to a heart attack on October 28, 2014. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm, Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Iles Westover Chapel where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 7:00 pm. He is survived by his parents Marv and Barb Berry, his brother Jeff Berry (Margaret), his sister Kim Solwick (Ted), nephews Joe Berry and Jonathan Solwick, niece Lauren Berry, many cousins, and his girlfriend Melody Gregg and her son Ethan. Greg never wanted to be the center of attention, but was always at the center of helping others. He enjoyed his time in scouting and was an eagle scout. He lived the characteristics he learned during that time his entire life. He graduated from Hoover High School in 1983. He received his Zoology degree in 1987 and his doctorate in veterinary medicine in 1991, both from Iowa State University. Greg loved all types of music, and was a multi-year participant in the all-state honor band and orchestra. He was a proud member of the Hoover Jazz Band, the Iowa State University Marching Band, and the Iowa State Pep Band. He enjoyed spending free time in his yard, where there wasn't a plant he couldn't get to grow and flourish. Greg was a veterinarian with the Animal Rescue League of Iowa and loved by all. He had a passion about all things Disney – especially related to Mickey Mouse.
