Funeral services for Lewis Watson Jr., 84, of Butler will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Bethel Congregational Methodist Church, burial will follow in The Church Cemetery. Mr. Watson passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Medical Center in Macon. He was a member of The Church and served in the US Army. He was a successful businessman, he was employed with the railroad and Howard Sand Company before he founded the Butler Sand Company in 1958.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah Lewis Watson, Sr. and Lena Roberson Watson; his wife, Thelma Cosey Watson; his son, Mark Watson and his sister Frances Watson Hobbs.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Watson (Debbie) of Butler and Mitch Watson (Charlene) of Butler; companion, Cheryl Davis of Butler; four grandchildren, Haylee Watson, Stevie Watson Gentry (Howard) Spencer Watson (Kristin) and Shelby Watson (Heather); one great grandson Urijah Veek; one step daughter, Ellen Locke (Howard) of Butler; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
