Milo D. Richter, age 63, Clark, died at his home early Friday morning; October 24, 2014 with his family at his side after a 5 month hard fought battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

Funeral services were Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 10:30 AM in the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Clark with The Reverends Gary Anderson and Roger Shepherd officiating. The honorary casketbearers are co-workers of Northwestern Public Service, and members of the Clark Lions Club. The active casketbearers are Lynn & Greg Richter, Jaloy Gustafson, James Amdahl, Roger Chapin, Mike Valdez, George Florey and Dale Delka. The organist was Dorothy Fuller with Robbyn Gauger-Givens singing and Duane and Char Peterson singing a duet. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark.

He was born Milo Dean Richter on November 11, 1950 at Watertown, the son of Carl and Beatrice (Amdahl) Richter. Milo attended the Blooming Valley #4 School and then went to Summit for high school graduating in 1969. He then attended SDSU for a year.

On November 6, 1976 he was united in marriage to Valerie Eaton at Gettysburg. In December of 1976 he began a career with Northwestern Public Service, later becoming Northwestern Energy, a career that continued until ill health forced him to disability. The couple lived in Aberdeen, Grand Island, NE, Doland and in Clark, all communities in which he was stationed for work.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Clark. In his free time he enjoyed pheasant hunting, fishing, motorcycle trips and traveling. Milo was a an avid Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings fan. In the community, Milo was a very active member of the Clark Lions Club for 22 years. During that time he served as the club president and was also a zone chairman. He served on several committees, being the chair person for most of them, he was the founder of the Clark Lions Club Zoo Trip for the Elderly which he took great pride in. Milo received the following awards; LCIF Honor Roll in 2009, 20 year member chevron in 2012, and recently the Henry Baker award in 2014, for his dedication to our club and community. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grand-kids, Lilly and Cole.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Carl and Bea Richter and in-laws, Burton and Eleanor Eaton-Nagel.

Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife Valerie of Clark, daughters, Jessica (Cory) Berg of Altus, OK, Amie (Joey) Stapleton of Centennial, CO and Katie (Cody) Wangsness of Clark, two grandchildren, Lilly & Cole Wangsness and his siblings Carol (George) Braunwarth of Waconia, MN, Marlys (Ernie) Jensen of Meckling, SD, Julaine (Ray) Wedin of Plymouth, MN, Donn (Mary Gapp) Richter of Summit, SD, Vonnie Richter of Redfield and Vicki (Tom) Gulbranson of South Padre Island, TX. He also leaves a brother-in-law, Burt (Faye) Eaton of Watkins, CO and a exchange son, Diego Galvez of Spain and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
