Arthur "Bud" R. Golightly, age 82, of Mary Esther, Fla., passed away in a local hospital Friday, Dec. 8, 2000.

He was born on Aug. 11, 1918, in Chaffee, Mo. He was a resident of the local area since 1981 when he moved here from Clearwater, Fla. Bud was an active member of the American Legion, VFW, DAV and AMVETS. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army he also had been wounded.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Myrtle; brothers, Fred and Harold Golightly, both of Chaffee; and sister, Francis Snifner, also of Chaffee.

Family and friends may call at a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Little Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at Little Chapel Funeral Home. The American Legion and VFW will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery.

Little Chapel Funeral Home, 910 Beal Pkwy., Fort Walton Beach, is entrusted with arrangements.
