Rodney Poole, Nashville Pioneer, Died Yesterday
Rodney Poole, 84, well known Mason of this city died yesterday morning at a local infirmary after an extended illness.

Mr. Poole had lived in Nashville for the past sixty years, coming here from Chicago. Until eighteen years ago, he conducted a photographer's studio at the corner of Fourth and Union streets. During the war, he made tin type pictures for the Confederate soldiers in a tent located opposite the Maxwell House.

Mr. Poole was a member of Cumberland Lodge No. 8, F. & A.M., Cumberland Chapter No. 1, R.A.M, Nashville Council No. 1, R & S.M., Nashville Commandery No. 1, K.T., Trinity Consistory, No. 2, A.A. S.R. and of Al Menah Temple of the Shrine.

He is survived by two sister Miss Annie Poole and Mrs. J.W. Braid, both of Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted at the parlors of Dorris Karsch & Company this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Dr. James I Vance.

Members of Cumberland Lodge, F.&A.M. will serve as pallbearers.


Well known Nashville photographer 1870-1896. After leaving the photography business he became a librarian at the Masonic Library in Nashville.
