A lifetime resident of Ardmore, he served with the Army during World War II and retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas Company as an area superintendent. He and Vada Mae Johnson were married on Aug. 14, 1948, in Gainesville, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Steve, Ardmore; two daughters, Terri Jackson, Ardmore, and Beverly Labruzzo, Houston; a sister, Maxine Anderson, Duncanville, Texas; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Chance Scott, Cory and Jaycee Lee, Carey, Tim, Justin and Gilbert Ellis Jr.
