CLAUDIA MEADE MARTIN, 95, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude Vincent Meade Sr. and Laura Iva Ohler Meade; her loving husband of 71 years, Roy Forrest “Dude” Martin Jr.; beloved son, Roy Forrest “Buddy” Martin III; two brothers, Dr. James Charles Meade and Claude Meade Jr.; and two grandsons. Claudia leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Charldine Porter of Mont Belvieu, Sandra Scott and husband, David of Richmond, Brenda Riggs of Pearland, Iva Darlene “Cookie” Edwards and husband, Carson of San Antonio; daughter in law, Jacqueline Martin of Pearland; two sisters, Marylyn Knapp of Dallas and Sonya Patrick of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; four great-great grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews; special lifelong friend, Willene Tindall; and a host of other family and friends.

Claudia was a faithful member of the Pearland Church of Christ who loved and cherished her family. She was affectionately known as “Tickie” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren and made each one believe they were her favorite. Claudia lived life to the fullest and was a fabulous hostess, a marathon shopper, a competitive card and game player and true fashion aficionado. She found great joy in cooking and decorating for the holidays. Claudia was intelligent, quick witted, and strong willed and will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her.

The services for Claudia will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am and the service will follow at 11:00 am with D.C. Brown officiating. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
