Elinor was born to Seth and Ella Jorpeland Wyckoff near Urbana, Iowa, on Jan. 9, 1918. She graduated from Urbana High School and attended the University of Iowa and Coe College. She taught rural school in her early days and married Lester Unash. They were divorced. She then married Dale W. (Ben) Andrews on Aug. 11, 1951, in Davenport. He died in 1981. They lived in Cedar Rapids and were in sales for the Minnesota Woolen Co. for many years. In her younger days she loved to knit and fish, and she always liked to cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Winifred Broccoli.
