Bobbie Lee Townsend, 94, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014. A Celebration of his Life will be held Friday, October 31, 2014 at Macon Memorial Park at 2:00pm with Rev. Gary Townsend officiating. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:00pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Mr. Townsend was born January 7, 1920 in Rebecca, Georgia to the late Amos and Josephine Griffin Townsend and was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lee Shipper Townsend, a brother, Philip Townsend, and a sister, Hazel Kania. He was a member of Mabel White Baptist Church. As a carpenter by trade, Mr. Townsend built several homes in Macon. His skills in carpentry were used to remodel and repair numerous homes, becoming a longtime friend with many of his customers.

Survivors include his children, Dale (Judy) Townsend, Lannie (Eva) Townsend, Sue (Ronald) McKinney, and Dawn (Ricky) Cravey; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery has charge of the arrangements.
