The sun rose on March 19, 1984 with the birth of their daughter, Rachel Suzanne Watson to Pastor Theodore Watson and the late Marie Williams in Saginaw, Michigan.

Rachel attended Saginaw Public Schools, Bridgeport-Spaulding Schools and graduated with honors from Roberta Clemente High School in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She furthered her education at Professional Skills Institute in Glendale, Ohio graduating with high academic honors as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Rachel loved learning. She was returning to school to pursue a degree as a Registered Nurse. Rachel was a beloved employee of Heartland Healthcare Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Rachel’s resonating laugh could be heard from miles and miles. She loved people and always had an encouraging word to help brighten the darkest places. Rachel loved her family with every fabric of her being. She had an undying love for her four children ad enjoyed outings with them. Her greatest joy was attending her daughter’s cheerleading engagements and seeing her sons hoop it up on the basketball courts. Even little Royce tried to get in on the action. The bonds of sisterhood could not be broken. They attended many social events together. Rachel would often say she had the greatest dad that anyone could ever have, often saying, “He’s always there for me.”

Rachel departed this earthly life on Wednesday, October 22, 2014.

Because Rachel was a beautiful woman with strong personal convictions, she will be remembered by her sons, Isaiah, Noah ad Royce along with her daughter, Sydney. Her presence will be missed by her parents, Pastor Theodore and 1st Lady Charity Watson of Saginaw, Michigan; her siblings, Jenea and Mekia Williams of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Bethani Watson of Detroit, Michigan, DaNina and RaShonda Watson of Suitland, Maryland, Jeremy (Melinda) Watson of Lynchburg, Virginia, Raymond Collins of Arlington, Texas, Marcus Mayes, Derek and Demarquies Tory all of Saginaw, Michigan; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her memory will rest in the heart of her best friend, Gina Williams.

The family wishes to express sincere thanks to everyone who have shown expressions of love and encouragement. Special thanks to Ivan E.
