Robert A McCool, 75, a beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away October 26, 2014. Bob was born February 19th, 1939 to R. Lynn McCool and Clarice (Garrett) McCool in Pittsburg, Kansas. Bob's childhood was a happy one with many wonderful memories of life in Pittsburg with nine uncles and extended family. He grew up in Pittsburg and graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1957. He enrolled and attended Pittsburg State University in Liberal Arts briefly before entering into the Navy in 1958 with four years service on the USS Meredith as a fire control technician. Bob married Joyce Bland on Dec 21, 1962 in Des Moine, Iowa. Bob was employed in AT&T as a supervisor and manager for operations and projects that required relocations to Davenport Iowa, Kansas City, Misouri and Basking Ridge, New Jersey until his retirement in 1989. Bob was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge of Lenexa, Kansas and Abdullah Shrine in Overland Park, Kansas as an Oriental Band member and an Escort. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, of 51years; son Patrick of Oskalossa, Kansas; son Micheal of Kansas City, Misouri; grandchildren Kelvin, Jordan, Barrett and Walker. Bob's passions were his family and friends. He will be remembered as one who never met a stranger, was always willing to tell stories and jokes, and had a passion for life as a true gentleman.
