She graduated from McPherson High School in 1937 and McPherson College in 1941, began teaching school in 1944 at Preston schools then, in 1961, she taught at Liberty Junior High School, retiring in 1976. Geneva was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and many other organizations.
On Dec. 25, 1943, she married Carl W. Breeze in McPherson. He died Dec. 6, 1983.
She is survived by a daughter, Maurine (Pat) Hall of Hutchinson; a sister-in-law, Leona Altenbaumer of Hutchinson; four grandchildren, Gina (Joe) Schieffelin of Parker, Colo., Amanda (Derek) Schaffer of Andover, David (Dawn) Hall of Hutchinson, Krysti (Chris) Brull of Houston, Texas; four great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; four great-great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Milton Schlehuber.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Pastor Jim Rhaesa presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Hutchinson Public Library or Hospice of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson
