Born in North Adams on May 12, 1912, son of Wilfred J. and Louise Lajeunesse Belanger, he attended local schools and spent most of his life in Pittsfield.
He was first employed as an electrician for several different area electrical contractors and as an electrician at General Electric for 26 years, retiring in 1977.
Mr. Belanger was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of its Family Society. He was a member of the G.E.A.A., and the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners clubs.
He and his wife, the former Evelyn C. McCumiskey, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past Tuesday. They were married Oct. 12, 1939.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mary B. Traversa, with whom he made his home, and Pauline A. Stedman of Lee; three sons, Anthony S. Belanger of Lenox, Hermon Tyrone Belanger of Lanesboro, and Roger M. Belanger of Great Barrington; a brother, Edward L. Belanger of Pittsfield; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Hermon F. Belanger, 87, of Pittsfield who died Oct. 13 will be held Friday at 10:15 from the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, followed with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Pregnancy Support Services of Berkshire County in care of the funeral home.
