Mrs. Bernice Suggs Collins, 77, wife of Clyde L. Collins went to be with her Lord early on the morning of Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Florence after an extended illness.

Bernice was born in Florence, South Carolina on December 4, 1942, a daughter of the late Timothy Lee Suggs and the late Sallie Louise Jackson Suggs. Mrs. Collins worked in the business offices at Anderson Brothers Bank, where she retired from after several years to enjoy her children and spoil her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved working in her yard, cooking meals and tasty treats, and was a confessed and avid “Shop-a-holic.” Mrs. Collins was a member of Mullins First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.

Surviving Bernice in addition to her beloved husband of the home, Clyde Levon Collins are three children, Deborah Lynn Collins (Eddie) Page, Connie Collins (Christopher Scott) Barrett and Michael Levon (Sara Spivey) Collins; three brothers, Cecil (Marilyn Lewis) Suggs, James Harold (Lynn Berry) Suggs and Ronnie Mitchell (Jean Johnson) Suggs; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Marvin Lee Suggs and his wife, Sylvia Elvington Suggs and Homer (Shirley) Suggs; and one sister, Doris Louise Suggs Ford, her husband Billy and infant daughter, Angie.

A graveside service to honor Mrs. Collins’ life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon, October 30 in Devotion Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Robbie Baxley officiating, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. We ask that masks be worn, and that social distancing protocol be followed during the service and when in contact with the family for everyone’s safety.
