Nancy M. (Grunwald) Stevens was born on February 11, 1941 in Wyandotte Michigan To Raymond Richard Grunwald and Margaret Ann (Liss) Grunwald. Nancy lost her long battle with cancer on the 8th day of September 2013 and is resting in the arms of our Lord Jesus today, may she rest in peace. Nancy married Jim, the love of her life on April 4th, 1959 in Hartland Mi. She was a wonderful partner, wife, mother, and grandmother. She accomplished much in life not the least of which; She sheltered, nurtured and cared for over forty newborns and toddlers until they were adopted. For many years she served the community, caring for and assisting senior citizens in the neighborhoods and at various senior centers throughout Macomb County, ending her years of service as supervisor of the Romeo, MI. location. She remained grateful for the many associations and friendships made during those years. She very often mentioned the friendships that were forged with the staff and children of the Switzer Elementary School of the Utica Community School system during the employment there as well as her many friends through the years in the Shelby Twp. Police and Fire Departments. During retirement in the Presque Isle County, Mi. she held the position as Deacon of the Grand Lake Chapel, as well as serving the community in many other ways. She was the proud Mother of four wonderful children, seven beautiful grand children and three precious great grand children. Nancy will be remembered for her thoughfulness and gentle caring ways. She is Survived By Husband Jim, Four Children; Kenneth (Gail) Stevens, Laura (Mark) Scheuerlein, Carlene (Norm) Ferry, Diana (Paul) Reno. Seven Beautiful Grand Children; Sarah (Cary) Brooks, Shanna (Mark) Rodgers, Joseph Ferry, Stephanie Stevens, Mitchell Stevens, Spencer and Chandler Reno. Three Great Grand Children; Dillon, Carson and Brockston Rodgers all of Macomb County, Michigan. Brother Carl (Carolynn) Grunwald, Many Dear Sisters in law, Brothers in law, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Dear Friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her Parents, Husbands Parents; Frank and Mary Stevens, Four brothers, two sisters, two brothers in law and Many Dear Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. Visitation at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. (Shelby Township) 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Rds. Wednesday 4-9pm, Thursday 1-9pm. Instate Friday 10:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church 45160 Van Dyke ( 1 blk. N of Hall Rd. M-59) until Time of Service at 11:00am. Burial Guardian Angel Cemetery. Memorial Tributes to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Trinity Lutheran Church are welcome.
