ALLISON
James Allison (1806-1901) was born in England, where he and his wife, Mary Colton raised their family. After Mary's death, James and two sons emigrated to Canada in 1848. One son, George was twelve years old. On Jan. 5, 1860, James bought Lot 10 Con. 15 and in 1877 built a house 15 rods west of the present house. George married Jane Smithers and they lived in a house on that same lot. Three of their children died. George and Jane then went to Custer, Michigan, where they later had four boys, Charles, Walter, Edward and John. James married a second time, this time to Jane Metcalfe and they had four children, Annie, William, John and Robert. ...
