HELEN A. CARLTON, 91, of Capron Road, died Thursday at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. She was the wife of Luther J. Carlton.
A lifelong resident of Smithfield, she was a daughter of the late Philip R. and Anna (Kane) Andrews. Mrs. Carlton lived and worked on the family farm.
Besides her husband, she is survived by seven sons, two daughters, 47 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Richard C. Carlton and Anna Gabriele-Andreasson, the sister of the late Fred Andrews and Bertha Emin*, the grandmother of the late Brian Carlton and the great-grandmother of the late Jack Cowman.
