Frank M. Vela, Jr., 78, of Big Spring, died Monday, October 27, 2014 at his residence. Graveside services were 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Mt Olive Memorial Park.
Frank was born March 18, 1936 in Big Spring and married Jane Olguin, October 10, 1957.
He was an appliance repairman who used his skills to help those in need. He was also fun-loving, always having a joke to cheer you up.
Frank is survived by his wife, Jane Vela of Big Spring; three sons, Robert Vela and Adam Vela, both of Big Spring, Edward Vela and wife, Kimberly of Frisco; two daughters, Lucy Morelion of Big Spring, and Linda Gonzales and husband, Jesse of Abilene; thirteen grandsons, Allan Vela, Aaron Vela, Austin Vela, Alec Vela, Kaden Vela, Matthew Gonzales, James Franco, Abel Morelion, Nickolas Morelion, Ethan Morelion, Robert Lee Vela, Larry Vela, and Arturo Vela; and one sister, Virginia Duron of Big Spring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco M. and Andrea (Madrid) Vela; two brothers, Eugene Vela and Ramon Vela; and one sister, Lola Rodriguez.
