Deceased Name: Elsie Sherman, 96
Elsie May Tiffany Sherman, 96, of Narragansett, R.I., and formerly of Cranston, died at home on Tuesday, Oct. 15. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard W. Sherman.

Born in Warwick, a daughter of the late Walter A. and Ada (York) Tiffany, she was adopted and raised by "Granny," Ida A. Domonie. After her family, her main joy in life was music. She played piano and organ "by ear" and sang and harmonized all her life.

Mrs. Sherman worked for many years in the tax collector's office for the city of Cranston. She was active in Cranston and national politics, and she enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by three children, David W. Sherman, Carolyn T.

Sherman and Howard "Wig" Sherman, formerly of Wilton; seven grandchildren, David C., Linda, Roger, Christopher, Alexandra, Jonathan, and Maegan, and two great grandchildren, Allison and Amanda; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was the grandmother of the late Whitney Sherman.

Burial in Wilton will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Whitney Sherman Award Fund, c/o Howard Sherman, 4922 Wood Duck Circle, Vero Beach FL32967.
