My great grandfather William D. Sigman was believed born near the corner area of Missouri/Arkansas/Kansas state lines where they are adjacent to Oklahoma(then Indian Territory). As a teenager he worked as a farmhand in Kansas near the Missouri State line. He migrated to Greyson County Texas where he married Sarah A. Thomas in 1879. She already had two daughters from a previous marriage to J. Shirley. William and Sarah started their family and remained in Texas for the next 25 years and then migrated to Oklahoma prior to Statehood in 1907. He was listed in the Court records for jury duty in Ardmore, OK in 1904. In 1910 the family was located in Caddo County near Anadarko, OK. farming with his brother George. His death certificate shows that he died in Lindsay,Garvin County, OK and shows he was buried in the Lindsay Cemetery(Green Hill).

I visited the cemetery in 2011 to research his burial. He has no grave marker and the caretaker said that parts of the older card index of burials was destroyed, damaged or mismanaged and a new burial index had to be under taken (he also mentioned one or more of the early caretakers could not read or write well). Information on unmarked graves was lost. They could only make a new grave index based on headstones and undamaged index cards.
