Obituary:

Manufacturer Dies in Elora. Joseph Walser, head of the Elora Furniture Co. Ltd., died at his home in Elora on Saturday, April 4th, after a long illness, it is over 20 years since he founded the furniture company. The funeral service was held in St. Mary's church on Tuesday in St. Mary's church on Tuesday morning and the interment was in the Roman Catholic cemetery. JOSEPH EDWARD WALSER. By Record Correspondent. ELORA April 6 - Joseph Edward Walser, 67, died of a stroke at his Walnut Street home Saturday after an illness of six years. A furniture manufacturer, he was born in Listowel in 187_ and was president of the Elora Furniture Company. He attended St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Elora, and was a member of the Holy Name Society. Deceased was the son of the late Joseph Walter and Mary Hendges of Kitchener and married Magdlena Wagner at St Agatha in 1899. A resident of Elora for 33 years, he bought the Elora Furniture Company in 1919 and continued in business until he took ill six years ago. Since then the business has been conducted by his three sons. Mr. Walser lived in Kitchener and Elmira prior to moving to Elora. Survivors include his wife, three sons, Harry, Edward and Victor, all of Elora, five daughters, Mrs. Martin Hauck, Mrs. James Costin, Mrs. Joseph Strub, Mrs. Charles McKenna and Edith Walser, all of Elora, two brothers, Emil of Elora and Clarence of Buffalo. Another brother Conrad died in July, 1941, at Elora. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. with solemn high mass at St. Mary's Church with Rev. V.M. Shea officiating.
