CUMPTON, SHIRLEY ANNE (ACUFF) - age 72, of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 27, 2014 at North Knoxville Medical Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Powell. Preceded in death by husband of forty-two years, Dennis Cumpton; parents, John and Cora Acuff; brothers, Edward, Bill, "Booty", Junior, and Bud Acuff; sisters, Mary Byerly, Bobbie Wood, Sally Julian, and Betty Dyer. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Donnie Farris, grandsons, Travis and Tyler Farris; granddaughter, Samantha Farris; sister, Helen Caton; and numerous special nieces and nephews. The family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11:00 am graveside service with Rev. Gene Wood, Jr. officiating.
