Ethel Payne, of Brookville, Indiana, passed away on her 100th birthday – Monday October 13, 2014.
Born October 13, 1914, in Bell County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of George and Nancy Hoskins Greene. She married Wilson E. Payne on November 8, 1930 in Pathfork, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on October 22, 1987. She was a homemaker as well as a member of the Brookville Order of Eastern Star.
Those surviving who will cherish Ethel’s memory include daughter,... son, James ... 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 8 great, great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Jo Mosley; sisters, Jeanette Burch, Georgia Sparks, Verda Shackelford and Anna Simpson, and brother, Otto Greene.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
