Son of Thomas and Margaret (Clancy) Mulvanity, he was married to Mary A. Dubray on 12 Sep 1917 in Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts, she had been married and divorced. They had three known children: Barbara Elizabeth (Adams) (Ritchey) Mulvanity b. 28 June 1918-d. 15 May 1997 California, Francis Creighton Mulvanity b. 18 Nov.1921-d.15 Nov 1942 at sea, near Guadacanal during World War II, and Jacqueling Mulvanity b. 1925-d.1988.
Mary A. Dubray died 13 Sep 1982 Kern, California at that time she had taken the name Nancy Maye Morrow. She was with the family in the 1920 census, in the 1930 census she is not listed and John and the 3 children are living with his sisters. The children lived with their aunts after the death of Dr. John.

Dr. John J. Mulvanity of 11 New st. died last evening at the Peter Bent Brigham hospital, Boston. Dr. Mulvanity had been ill for the past two months and was recuperating at the summer home of his sistr in Winthrop, Mass., when he suddenly took a turn for the worse early in the week and was removed to the hospital. Dr. Mulvanity was a native of this city, the son of the late Thomas and Margaret Mulvanity. He was educated in the public schools and was graduated from Nashua High school in 1902. He received his BS degree from Dartmouth College in 1907 and pursued his medical training at Tuft's Medical School receiving his degree in 1913. He served as house officer in St. Elizabeth's hospital, Boston during 1913 and 1914 and at the New York Lying-in-Hospital in 1915. Returning to Nashua he was city physician in 1915 and 1916. He practiced medicine in Salem, Ipswich and Leominster. Served on the staff of the Memorial and St. Joseph hospitals here. He was a member of the Nashua Medical and Hillsboro County Medical Societies. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's parish. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara E and Jacqueline J. and one son F. Creighton, a midshipman in the U.S. Naval Academy; three sisters, Mary T. and Katherine J. Mulvanity and Dr. Sara A.Williams of Jamaica Plain and one brother, Thomas F. Mulvanity of Washington, D. C. The body will be brought to Nashua late this after noon and may be viewed by friends at the home, 11 New st. Funeral announcements will be made later.
