Bonnie Josephine Goff Weaver, 77, a resident of Woodlawn, VA passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Weaver was born November 1, 1936 in Blooming Grove, Ohio, the daughter of the late William Dale Goff, Sr. and the late Sylvia Josephine Goff. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, William Dale Goff, Jr. and Daniel Clark Goff. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Charmes Lynn Weaver of Woodlawn, VA, her son Joseph Weaver and his wife Laura Weaver of Cleveland, TN; and her three daughters, Denise Eden of Hendersonville, NC, Juanita Weaver-Reiss and her husband Stephen Reiss of Dayton, OH and Clara Weaver of Woodlawn and her grandchildren Jason Reiss and his wife Heather, Daniel West, Pamela Weaver Evans and her husband Doug Evans, Sylvia Wolfe, Angela Weaver, Joella Weaver and her great grandchildren Evan, Caden, Sydney, and Braeden Reiss; and Colby and Tyler Evans.

She graduated from Columbia Union College with a degree in Elementary Education in 1960. She taught at Lakewood Academy in Cleveland, OH; Turner Memorial School in Big Stone Gap, VA; Galax SDA Church School and Hillsville Elementary Public School. She retired in 1977. She was a member of the Wytheville SDA Church. She faithfully served as a Church Deaconess and children’s story teller. She was a leader at The Community Service Center of Galax and Wytheville for over ten years. Her hobbies were making crafts, which were sold at Rooftop of Virginia, sewing, and playing the accordion. She was published in Little Friend and Guide magazines for the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She loved her family, pets of all kinds, and was an accomplished story teller.

Funeral services will be held at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM. with Elder Darry Campbell of Galax SDA Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Weaver family.
