Mary Frederickson Hiott, of Smoaks, entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of October 25, 2014, in Walterboro.

Ms. Hiott was born June 15, 1939, in Williams, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Eino Alfred Frederickson and the late Emma Dell Herndon Frederickson.

Mrs. Hiott was a lifelong and faithful member of Marion Baptist Church in Williams. At her church, she was active in the Women’s Missionary Union and Outreach Ministry as well as many other areas of the church’s work.

Mary loved her family dearly, always devoting herself to the needs and lives of her son and grandchildren. In her son’s earlier years, she was active in the PTA and also served as a room mother at North Andrews Gardens Elementary School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was a huge Florida Gators fan, supporting a team she dearly loved where her son played the position as an Offensive Lineman. She was also a Miami Dolphins fan.

Surviving are: her son, Earl Hiott and wife Cecellia of Coconut Creek, Florida; brother, Reverend Michael Frederickson of Estill; two sisters, Betty F. Priester and Laura F. Priester both of Smoaks; two beloved grandchildren, Garrett and Ryan.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Carol F. Stanley.

Funeral services were conducted, October 27, 2014, from the graveside in Williams Cemetery. The Reverend Kenny Nichols officiating.
