Born on October 7, 1927 in Hughsville, MD to the late Arthur James and Elsie Virginia Fleming Swann, he grew up in the Washington, D.C. area. Married Francis Cusick on June 17, 1949. They then raised their children in Riverdale, MD.
Edward enjoyed boating, taking cruises, and his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Mr. Swann is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Francis Joanna Swann of Georgetown, DE; three daughters, Carole Marino of Gambrills, Joyce Lay of Stevensville, and Donna Durm of Gambrills; and a son David Swann of Stevensville, MD; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Edward William Swann, Jr.
A visitation will be held at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home in Chester, MD from 11am-1pm on Thursday, October 30, 2014, service starting at 1pm. Burial will be in Stevensville Cemetery.
