James A. McDade III, fondly known as Jim, 77, passed away on October 24, 2014, following a struggle to recuperate from a stroke suffered in June. He was born in Conshohocken, PA, August 1, 1937, to James and Mary McDade. He attended Temple University, and then served in the U.S. Air Force. His business career took him from Fort Myers, Florida to Jacksonville, Florida. His affiliations include: Lee County Bank, North Fort Myers Pop Warner Association, Bill Branch Chevrolet, Peninsular Life Ins. Company and Jim McDade Enterprises. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Janie and her two daughters, Jenny E. Settles (Scott) of Paducah, KY and Amy M. Clayton (Jim) of Jacksonville, FL. His two sons James A. McDade V (Leigh) of St. John s, FL. and Neal J. McDade (Lindsay) of Fleming Island, FL. were born in his marriage to Amber. Jim leaves behind a total of nine grandchildren. Jim is also survived by his two sisters, Molly Gavanus (Joseph) and Audrey Bolger (John) of Pennsylvania and a host of beloved nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph s Historic Old Church in Jacksonville. The Inurnment will be held at a later date at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Floral donations may be sent to the church on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be sent to Community Hospice. Arrangements by Naugle Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1203 Hendricks Ave.
