Robert G. Brokaw, 79, of Point Pleasant Beach, passed away on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014 at the Claremont Center in Pt. Pleasant. Born in Plainfield, he lived in Hunterdon County prior to moving to Pt. Pleasant Beach 10 years ago. He worked as a Field Technical Manager for Ferro Corp. (formerly PDI) in Edison for 37 years before his retirement. Bob was a member of the Faith Presbyterian Church of Cape Coral, FL and a former Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Bloomsbury, NJ. He was an avid hunter and a life-time member of the N.R.A. He belonged to the Whitehouse Rod and Gun Club for many years. Son of the late Ethel (Thompson) and Arthur Brokaw. Bob is survived by his wife of 18 years, the former Nancy Jaken Young. He was predeceased by his wife, Sandra Jane (Phillips) Brokaw and by his former wife, Roberta Stewart. He is survived by four daughters, Roberta Diable and her husband Alan of Wilmington, NC, Holly Brokaw-Brennan and Ross Power of Vero Beach, FL, Michelle Graefe and her husband Kevin of Coplay, PA, and Tammy Marino of Phillipsburg, NJ; three step-children, Robert Laureigh and his wife Wendy of Lanoka Harbor, NJ, Sheryl Corcum and her husband Charles of Hubert, NC, and Kathleen Dalcourt and her husband Albert of Plainsboro, NJ; one sister, Mary Butler of Whiting, NJ; 4 grandchildren, Branden and Dominique Smith, Ryan and Shane Graefe; 5 step-grandchildren, Nicole Jiras, Kristina Laureigh, Tori, Paige and Rick Dalcourt; and 2 great-grandchildren. Bob was also blessed with many loving friends and neighbors. Visiting hours are Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Van Hise and Callagan Funeral Home, 812 Arnold Avenue, Pt. Pleasant Beach. A funeral mass will be offered on Thursday at 10 am at St. Peter's RC Church, Pt. Pleasant Beach. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
