Linda Sue Wahls Stapleton, 67, of Jonesville, VA passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at her daughter’s residence.
She was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on March 3, 1947 to the late Forest Edward Wahls and Betty Jean Omspaccer Wahls Evans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Edward Stapleton; children, Teresa Ann and Brent Allen Stapleton; and grandson, Justin Stapleton.
She is survived by her partner of 34 years, Robert Smith, Jr.; children, Brenda Hines and husband Oscar of Davenport, FL, Edward Stapleton of Jonesville, Stacy Pettey and her husband Daniel of Jonesville, Jimmy Stapleton and wife Sherry of Jonesville, Katherine Pendergraft of Jonesville, Bobby Smith of Phoenix City, AL and Lonnie Smith of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Robert Stapleton, Tosha Crusenberry, Shawn Crusenberry, Christopher Stapleton and wife Jamie, Sabrina Cantor and husband Jason, Ross Pettey, Slexandra Slagle and husband Josh, Isom Pettey, Jimmy Stapleton, Dylan Stapleton, Miley Stapleton, Olivia Pendergraft, Leslie Smith, Jason Smith and Branson Smith; great-grandchildren, Hayden Berry, Addison, Anistasia and Trystan Crusenberry, Mollie, Luke and Easton Cantor, and Daniel Stapleton.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, at Robinette Funeral Home of Jonesville. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Ted Booth officiating. The graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, in Blankenship Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. to travel in procession to the cemetery.
