Ethel Pauline Pierce, age 84, passed away December 17, 2013 at Research Medical Center. Pauline was born February 17, 1929 near Huggins, Missouri to Arthur Blaine and Mattie Ethel Headley Tate. Pauline was saved at a young age and was a charter member of Hopewell Baptist Church near Graff, MO. After graduating from Houston, MO High in 1948 she married Hugo Gene Pierce on June 12, 1951. After starting married life in the Navy, they eventually settled in Blue Springs, MO where Pauline was a stay-at-home mom and day care provider.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Oral, Verl and Virgil Tate, sisters Ola Ziepseerder and Virgie Davis, and husband Gene Pierce. She is survived by her sister, Sylvia Bridges of Cabool, MO; children; Brian (Elaine) Pierce of Olathe, KS, Karen (Larry) Meisenheimer of Kansas City, MO, Sharon (James) Anderson of Camden Point, MO and Beverly (Jeffrey) Jackson of Newberg, OR. She is also survived by grandchildren Jeffrey and Kevin Pierce, Chad and Matthew Parker, Deborah and Rachel Jackson; step-grandchildren Robin Roberts, Mike Meisenheimer, Daniel Anderson, Laura Batie and Megan Anderson and five step-great-grandsons. She leaves behind several beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Pauline led her family with her strong faith in Jesus Christ, her love of family togetherness, and her dry sense of humor. She will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 21 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Raytown, MO, with memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Raytown.
