Gregory P. "Greg" Budd 60, died on Saturday June 28, 2014 at University Hospital, Madison from injuries in a motorcycle wreck.
Since you are reading this, it can only mean one thing... I have laid down my sword and my shield. And like the Apostle Paul I can Testify "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; and in the future there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the lord, The righteous Judge, will award me on that day; and not only me, but also to all who have loved His appearing." II Timothy 4:7 & 8, And as any good soldier of the cross knows, it's really not important who I am. But for the sake of my family and friends I'll give a brief sketch of my life.....
I came into this world on April 17, 1954 and was blessed with a tender heart sister that I loved named Sherry, a fun-loving mom known as Patsy to her many friends and a God fearing father everyone called Joe. We lived in Moses Lake, Washington and were known as 'the Budds'. My life couldn't have been much happier.

When my parents moved in the late 1970's to Madison, Wisconsin to work for the Seventh-day Adventist Conference, I decided to follow and help with the construction of a new conference office. It was here that I recommitted my life to Jesus and met the love of my life, Lesa Nelson. We were married on June 27, 1980. Our blended family consisted of six energenic & adventurous kids, who would live in Wisconsin, Illinois, be missionaries to the Dominican Republic and then back home to Wisconsin. Those were wonderful years...

These same kids are now adults with many responsibilities which I lovingly leave in God's hands. The first of which is my fun-filled daughter, Heidi Shotts, living and working in Phoenix, Arizona. My animal loving daughter Sasha Roberts of Fox Lake, Wisconsin is next in line. My son Dustin Budd who would make any father proud, along with his loving wife, Heidi, reside in Martin, Michigan. Then there's Seth Budd, my true kindred spirit in fun, who comes from Prescott, Arizona. Next from Pardeeville, Wisconsin is Rachel Roberts, who has always been able to keep up with me as we work side by side. And finally, Jacqlyn Mayr of Pardeeville who has always appreciated my fatherly instruction on how to raise kids. I need you to remember, "I have loved and enjoyed each one of you and was thankful to be called your dad. My prayers will follow you..." And to my many grandchildren: Delaney, Jadis, Jordan, Jasmine, Zyon, Paris, Caden, Gavin, Amaya, Elise, Ethan & Jeremiah let me say this, "You have filled my life with love and laughter. So remember to have some fun for grandpa too."

And now my dear family and friends, until we meet once more in that heavenly home, please know how thankful I was to have known you and how blessed to have shared some part of your journey with you. Until then...God's blessings be with you and stay strong.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M., on Friday, July 4, 2014 at the WISCONSIN ACADEMY SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH, N2355 Duborg Road, Columbus, WI 53925. Pastor Titus Naftanaila will officiate. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (www.adra.org).
