Mary Frances Dodd was born on August 29, 1831 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. Her parents were Samuel Dodd and Frances Bull. Some of Mary's siblings were Abby Lyman (Mrs. George Buck Bodwell) and Samuel Dodd. She married Douw Ditmars Williamson Jr. on November 1, 1853. Their children, by adoption, were George Norman Williamson (a nephew) and Cornelia Bodwell (a niece). Mary died on May 7, 1909 in Manhattan, New York City, New York.

Mary F. Williamson, widow of Douw D. Williamson, died at her home in this city yesterday after a lingering illness. She was born in Hartford, Conn., on Aug. 29, 1831, and was the daughter of Samuel Dodd and Frances Bull of Hartford, Conn. She was married in 1853, and is survived by a daughter, Miss Cornelia B. Williamson. Her son, the late George N. Williamson, died in 1905. For many years Mrs. WIlliamson was an active worker in All Soul's Church, of which the Rev. Dr. R. Herber Newton [Richard Herber Newton] was pastor, having been Treasurer of the kindergarten connected with the church. She traveled extensively during her active years, and had long resided in Edinburgh, Scotland, where her husband built large rubber works, and for a number of years in Dresden, Germany. The funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 10 o'clock from her late residence, 683 Madison Avenue.
