LOCK, LA FORE F.--Died at 3:30 p.m. October 18, 1918, at Bois des Chaume, France, of wounds received October 11, 1918, aged 22 years. Remains are expected to arrive in Springfield Saturday and will be taken to the residence of his parents, 1201 South Fifth street. Burial will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Lock; seven brothers, Ross, Glenn, Harry, Russell, Frank, Robert and Loren Lock; and two sisters, Miss Gretta and Miss Lola Marie Lock. LaFore Lock post of the Springfield post of Veterans of Foreign Wars was named in his honor. He was a member of Phi Alpha Omega.Private U.S. Army, World War One-Pvt. Lock was killed in action while serving with the AEF in France.

Pvt. Lock is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Lock of Springfield, Illinois.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, WWI Victory Medal.
