STRONG, Elizabeth Ann (Peters). died October 23, 2014. She was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Betsy graduated from St. Mary of Redford High School and earned a Home Economics degree from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania. She returned to Detroit and married the love of her life, the late Dr. Truman A. Strong, DDS, on July 11, 1953. Betsy and Truman raised six children in Redford Township, where they lived in the same house for nearly 50 years. Betsy was active in her neighborhood parish, St. Valentine Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially at Glen Lake, Michigan and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She was known for hosting unforgettable annual parties on both Christmas Eve and the Fourth of July for her large, extended family. She was always ready for a good time or outing, and loved to test her luck at a local casino. Betsy's warm smile and kindness will be dearly missed. Devoted mother of Linda (Daniel) Silvasi, Mary Beth Balardo, Dorothy (Rich) Sagante, Millie (John) Dahmer, John Strong, and Susan (Kent) Lassen. Beloved grandmother of eight grandsons (Guy and Truman Silvasi, Andy Sagante, John Truman Dahmer, Zachary and Mitchell Strong, Jack and Duke Lassen) and seven granddaughters (Maggie Silvasi, Katie and Sophie Balardo, Maria Sagante, Amelia and Evelyn Dahmer, and Emily Strong). Loving sister of the late Mary Catherine Peters. Caring sister-in-law of Barbara O'Brien and the late Dorothy Timmis. And most of all, cherished wife of the late Dr. Truman A. Strong.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 2-8 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd., Troy (Between Maple & Big Beaver), 248-362-2500, with Rosary at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Valentine Catholic Church, 25881 Dow Avenue, Redford. Visitation at church will begin Monday at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. Memorial tributes may be made to: St. Vincent de Paul Conference at St. Valentine Catholic Church, 25881 Dow Avenue, Redford, MI 48239.
