Born November 13, 1962 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of Virginia (Helman) Flora of Shippensburg, PA and the late Paul R. Flora.
John graduated from Shippensburg High School with the Class of 1981.
He was currently employed for Keystone Electric and had previously worked for Frick/Johnson Controls for 19 years.
John was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, William Max McLaughlin VFW Post #695 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1191, all of Waynesboro.
He enjoyed sports, video games, NASCAR Racing, riding his motorcycle and playing horseshoes.
In addition to his mother, John is survived by two children, Paul R. Flora of Waynesboro and Nicole Burns of Chambersburg; four grandchildren; four sisters, Virginia Henderson and Barbara Wadel, both of Chambersburg, Kathy Coldsmith of Shippensburg and Paula McKean of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda K. Fickes.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
