CLINTON-- MaryLou Kristensen, 82, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, at the Church of the Open Door, Clinton. A visitaiton will be ehld from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, at the Church of the Open Door. Burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
MaryLou was born january 18, 1933 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Fahey) Ebensberger. She was a 1951 graduate of Lyons High School. She was united in marraige to jens Kristensen on August 29, 1954 in Clinton.
MaryLou worked as an agent for Fidelity LIfe Insurance for several years; however she loved being a Teacher's Aidr for the Clinton School System, working with diabled children for over 10 years.
MaryLou was a longtime meber of the Church of the Open Door. She was active in various groups at the church including; the Bible study group, the Casserole club, as well as working and cooking for many luncheons at the Church Hall; cooking and baking was a wonderful talent she had and shared with many.
She also enjoyed reading going to card club, socializing with her many friends and tending to her flower garden. She also loved her trip to Denmark that she took with her husband to see his family.
MaryLou is survived by one daughter, Karen (Frank) Thorpe of Clinton, WI.; one son, Kent (Natalie) Kristensen of Clinton, IA; four grandchildren, Ashley, Dane, Amanda and Jacob; two step-grandchildren, Sarah and Bowen; one setpgreat-grandson, kobe; one brother, William Ebensberger of Clinton, IA; one sister, Ann (William) Holm of Clinton, IA; one sister-in-law, Inge (Richard)J Hansen of Clinton, IA; one brother-in-law, Bent Kristensen of Clinton, IA. with many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
