OBITUARY :
MRS. BARBARA ELLEN "BOBBIE" (HAHN) GUNTER, 67, of 1413 Outer Drive, Hagerstown, MD, passed away Friday, October 24, 2014 in her home.

Born January 7, 1947 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Joseph Hahn and Betty Jean (McKelvey) Flohr.

Mrs. Gunter was a graduate of Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1964. She later graduated from National Legal Secretarial School in Hagerstown with the Class of 1966.

She began her working career in the Staff Judge Advocate's Office at Fort Ritchie, MD where she was employed until its closing in 1998. She later was employed at Fort Detrick, MD. She retired in 2010 after 44 years of service.

Mrs. Gunter was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, Morris Frock American Legion Post #42, Hagerstown and the Hagerstown Chapter of National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's events and doing crafts.

Mrs. Gunter is survived by two daughters, Christine Talbert of Hagerstown and Amy Frey of Mercersburg, PA; five grandchildren, Tori, Ryan and Kayla Talbert and Joshua and Emily Frey; one sister, Sally Hahn Bercaw of Waynesboro; one brother, Roger Hahn of Atsugi, Japan; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Stanley Flohr.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in Green Hill Cemetery, 953 South Potomac Street, Waynesboro with the Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, 384 Floral Ave., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
