The earliest Wilson about whom we have definite information is Thomas Wilson I who was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. He emigrated to Northern Ireland, where he married an Irish lass by the name of Mary Riley.
Soon thereafter they emigrated to America in the early 1730's, and settled on Pipe's Creek in what is now Carroll County, Maryland. Here they established their home and reared a large family of ten children. Thomas I died in 1764 and Mary died about 1810.
