Obituary for Frederick Oscar Schnure of Friendship Village, age 90, on December 13, 2010. He was born in Sparrows Point, MD, the son of Fred Oscar Schnure and Dorothy Bunnell Schnure. Survived by his wife, Elise Miller Schnure, children Dr. Christine Dotterer (Dr. Richard Butcher), Dr. Frederick W. Schnure (Christina Hutton), Dorothy A. Schnure (Dr. Willem R. Leenstra), and Dr. Calvin D. Schnure (Dr. Malathi Jayawickrama), nine grandchildren, three step grandsons, and five great grandchildren. Survived also by two brothers, Robert and William.
He graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from Bucknell University in 1942. His career was with Westinghouse in the steel industry. Fred volunteered with South Hills Hospice, Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy, and Boy Scouts. A Memorial Service will be held at Friendship Village on Saturday, January 8.
