Felt, Oklahoma---Amalia "Lia" Cryer, 74, died Sunday, March 26, 2006, in Clayton, New Mexico.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 2, 2006 at the Felt Community Center in Felt, Oklahoma Graveside services were held on Monday, March 27, 2006 at the Bertrand Cemetery near Felt, Oklahoma by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New, Nexico.

Amalia "Lia" Zupancic Cryer was born on September 23, 1931 in Visnjagora, Yugoslavia, which is now Slovenia. She was put into a concentration camp for two years before she escaped and headed towards the mountains, Amalia climbed the Alps of Udine, Italy which took about a week. She worked in the Governors Palace in Venice, Italy before she immigrated to America in 1956 and worked as a
physiciant assistant and as a seamstress in New York. Amalia married Melvin Cryer on December 7, 1968 in Amarillo, Texas and they moved to Felt, Oklahoma. Her children and grandchildren were her fuel for everything. In addition to her parents Amalia was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Franci Zupancic, Lojze Zupancic and Fonze Zupancic, 2 sisters; Mathilda and Agaca and by 1 daughter-in-law; Christie Cryer.

SURVIVORS:

HUSBAND; Melvin Cryer of Felt, Oklahoma.

1 DAUGHTER: Eva Lawrence and her husband Jimmy of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 SON: Micheal Cryer and his wife Leona of Felt, Oklahoma.

4 GRANDCHILDREN: Tiffany Lawrence, Megan Lawrence and Austin Lawrence all of Clayton, New Mexico and Isaac Cryer of Felt, Oklahoma.

1 BROTHER: Augestej Zupancic and his wife Sonya of Visnjagora, Slovenia.

1 SISTER-IN-LAW: Mara Zupancic of Visnjagora, Slovenia.

And several nieces and nephews.
