Born in Carroll county, he married May Heffner in 1874, who died in 1932. His early married life was spent farming, later the family moved to Delphi, where he was engaged in construction work. He continued as a contractor until in his 70’s. He was an active member of the Methodist church, the Odd Fellows and Red Men’s lodges.
Besides his daughter, he leaves a son, Mayce Arnot, of Marion. Funeral services were held at the Hoffer home, Saturday at 2 p. rn. Burial in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Delphi.
