Mary Nell Carter Erwin, 88, of Sparta, passed away Jan. 1, 2005.
Erwin was born Sept. 2, 1916, in White County, to James Monroe Carter and Mollie Watts Carter.
She had been a homemaker.
Erwin was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chandler Marvin Erwin; one sister, Sallie Websters; and four brothers, Frank Carter, J.T. Carter, Cordell Carter, and Comer Carter.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ruth and Hollis Miller;
two granddaughters, Joyce Floyd and husband Mike, Laura Jones and husband Rodger; two great-grandsons, Justin Wittenburg and wife Michelle, of Hillham, Cody Witternburg; one great-great–grandson, Wesley Young;
three step grandchildren, Collin Floyd, Annmarie Floyd, and Evan Floyd, all of Lebanon.
Services were January 2, 2005, at Hunter Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Old Zion Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Pullum officiated.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
