Lena Vanden Bosch 1882-1968
Mrs. Lena Vanden Bosch, 86, of 857 Bates Street, Grand Rapids, Mich., passed away Saturday afternoon, Nov. 23 in the Christian Rest Home. Survivors include her husband, Professor J.G. Vanden Bosch, a son-in-law, Dr. John C. Russell of Brunswick, Maine, two grandsons, one brother and two sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ver Meer and Mrs. Henry Ver Meer of Pella and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Vanden Bosch was born in Pella and went to Grand Rapids in 1921 when she married Professor Vanden Bosch. She was a charter member of the Christian High Circle, Esther Circle, and the Mission Society of the La Grave Christian Reformed church of which she was a member. She was active in the Faculty Wives at Calvin College and a former board member of the Holland Home in Grand Rapids. She was failing in health for the past one and a half years.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 1:30 p.m. in the Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 1965 Eastern, Grand Rapids, Mich., with Rev. J.D. Eppinga officiating. Interment was in the Oak Hill cemetery.
